About Us

In September 2010, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded FHI 360 two five-year Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Cooperative Agreements to administer the END in Africa and END in Asia programs. . Subsequently, END in Africa received a 3-year extension through September 2018. As program administrator, FHI 360 works closely with its END program partners, sub grantees and national ministries of health to foster integration of national NTD control, overseeing:

  • Coordination of drug supply and delivery
  • Implementation of mass drug administration and other in-country NTD control activities
  • Capacity building to strengthen program financial management and operations
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the programs’ impact and financial management processes
  • Knowledge management and dissemination

Through the work of its END in Africa and END in Asia programs, FHI 360 is advancing USAID’s goal of contributing to the global elimination of NTD by reducing prevalence of seven diseases—lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis), onchocerciasis (river blindness), schistosomiasis (snail fever), trachoma (blinding eye infection) and three soil-transmitted helminths (hookworm, roundworm, and whipworm).
