Nurse in the Datcha Peripheral Health Unit, Ogou district, Plateaux region
The Togo Integrated NTD Program depends on nurses at each of the more than 600 peripheral health units to oversee the community drug distributors in the field. While all of these nurses take their responsibilities very seriously, Mr. Abrangao has stood out as being one of the most responsible. Each year, he ensures that mass drug administration in his peripheral health unit runs smoothly and is eagerly adopted by the community. His commitment to the community is demonstrated by the high coverage rates in his supervisory area, Datcha. He actively manages mass drug administration activities, assisting the community drug distributors with issues that arise, encouraging a high degree of community mobilization, and providing timely and accurate reports.
