Description: Attended by program managers and officers from all 6 countries supported by the END in Africa Project, sub-grantees – HKI, HDI, Deloitte; USAID NTD team from USA, Task Force for Global Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), WHO, Merck, and the Missions Director of USAID/West Africa, the meeting focused on sustaining achievements, program sustainability and local financing, and STH/SCH transition strategies for the six portfolio countries.

Past Event: Completing the WHO Joint Application Package for NTDs
Dates: Thursday, July 30, 2015
Description: Dr. Aya Yajima and Alexei Mikhailov from the World Health Organization (WHO) provided an orientation for national program managers and partners on how to complete the Joint Application Package for neglected tropical diseases. This package—due 15 August annually—includes essential forms for requesting donated drugs and reporting country achievements to WHO.
Dr. Uzoma Nwankwo from the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health shared Nigeria’s experience implementing the Tool for Integrated Planning and Costing and the Integrated NTD Database, which were used to generate and submit the Joint Application Package forms to WHO.

Past Event: END in Africa and ENVISION Joint Meeting for Elimination Planning

Description: USAID and partners END in Africa, managed by FHI360, and ENVISION, managed by RTI, discuss progress toward NTD elimination in their supported countries as well as potential solutions to persistent problems such as disease hot spots and cross-border issues.
Past Event: Ghana NTD Progress Celebration Event
Location: La Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana
Date: July 3, 2014
Description: Ghana will celebrate the progress achieved in its fight against NTDs at this historic event. Among the festivities, the Ghana Health Service’s NTD Programme will launch the Ghana NTD Master Plan. The event will also feature an exhibition on the significance of mass treatments and the work of the NTD Programme, as well as celebrate the country’s role in achieving USAID’s One Billionth NTD Treatment milestone in 2014.
In honor of the many thousands of health workers and volunteers that have contributed to NTD programme activities in Ghana over the years, several representative unsung heroes have been selected and invited to attend the ceremonies, where they will be publicly honored and awarded certificates of appreciation.
